Our story
Developing players. Building people.
Cross Over Basketball exists to improve young people’s lives through purposeful coaching, meaningful competition and an outstanding team culture.
Why Cross Over exists
Basketball is the vehicle.
Cross Over began with a simple belief: young players deserve coaching that develops more than basketball technique.
Every programme is designed to help players improve their skills, make better decisions, build confidence and learn how to contribute positively to a team.
Cross Over is building a clear pathway from early development through meaningful competition and older-player opportunities, while protecting the quality of every player’s experience.
Winning matters.
Competition gives players a reason to prepare, improve and perform together.
Development matters more.
Long-term growth is more valuable than short-term results.
Character matters most.
Effort, respect, teamwork and better decisions extend far beyond the court.
Cross Over exists to improve young people’s lives through basketball.

One standard. Built to grow.
Cross Over combines purposeful leadership, a consistent coaching approach and strong basketball partnerships to create quality experiences for young players.
Led by Tim Gillan
Tim leads Cross Over’s coaching approach and player-development pathway. He is responsible for session quality, coaching standards, team culture and creating opportunities that help players grow both on and off the court.
Consistent across every programme
Everyone supporting a Cross Over programme works within the same player-first approach: purposeful coaching, high standards, positive communication and long-term development.
Professional basketball partnerships
Cross Over partners with the Otago Nuggets and Southern Hoiho to deliver our Ballers Clinics, giving young players opportunities to learn from and connect with professional basketball players from both teams.
